Meet Eija-Riitta Berliner-Mauer, age 58, who has been married to the Berlin Wall since 1979. Eija-Riitta, with the surname Berliner-Mauer meaning Berlin Wall, was once diagnosed with the condition called Objectum-Sexuality. The diagnose means you have feelings of love, arousal, attraction and commitment for a particular object. Human relationships seems ludicrous to a person with the diagnose. Her disease and fetish supposedly originates from her childhood as she explains she fell in love with the structure when she first saw it on television at age 7.

Eija-Riitta Berliner Mauer marriage with the Berlin Wall

Eija-Riitta began collecting pictures and saving money to one day be able to visit the Berlin Wall. She has now visited the wall many times, but back in 1979, on her sixth trip to see her ‘beloved’, she ‘married’ the wall in front of a small crowd. Mrs. Berliner-Mauer claims she has a complete and loving relationship with the wall.

When the Wall was torn down in 1989, Eija-Riitta was devastated while most of the remaining world celebrated. Since then, she has not paid her ‘husband’ any visits. Eija-Riitta explains: “What they did was awful. They mutilated my husband.” Supposedly she has shifted her attention to a nearby garden fence…. Via: telegraph.co.uk.
