NYPD police officer Larry DePrimo bought a pair of boots for a homeless man in New York. A random act of kindness that became a worldwide news story.

Larry DePrimo stumbled upon a homeless man on the streets in New York.

“I had two pairs of wool winter socks and combat boots, and I was cold,” said DePrimo, 25, recalling the night of Nov. 14. DePrimo then offered to get the man socks and shoes, to which the man replied: “I never had a pair of shoes”. Larry DePrimo went to a nearby Skechers shoe store, bought he winter boots, went back and put the boots on the barefooted. “He smiled from ear to ear,” DePrimo said. “It was like you gave him a million dollars.”

The whole scene was caught on camera by a tourist from the state of Arizona. An act resulting in spreading the story around the world, making it one of the most shared stories on Facebook in that period.
