Marco Rascón Córdova, a high school dropout, has been a real-life superhero for many years in Mexico. Marco has taken the name of Superbarrio Gomez, wearing red tights and a red and yellow wrestler’s mask. The name of Superbarrio means super-neighborhood, which describes his actions as a real-life hero. He is not the usual crime fighting hero, but rather deals with helping the ones in need by organizing labor rallies, protests, filing petitions and helping those being evicted from their home.
Superbarrio also declared himself a candidate for the 1996 Presidential elections in in the U.S. Of course, he didn’t run for the office officially, but he merely ran a campaign to increase awareness and improve lives of Mexican workers in the U.S. (Via: wikipedia.org)
