7-year-old Remi Urbano and his younger sister really really wanted a cat. But their dad wouldn’t allow it. Following a lot of begging, their dad Dan Urbano suggested a bet. Only if the two kids could get 1.000 Facebook likes, would they get a cat. As it turned out, Dan seriously underestimated the power of the internet. And the Facebooks users love of cats and a feel-good story.
Remi and his sister got their mom Marisa to take the picture above and posting it on Facebook. Within a short period, the picture had gotten far more than 100.000 likes and shares and the cat was on the way to the kids.
So the family went to the shelter in the weekend to adopt a cat. They had planned to name it “Hairy Pawturr“, but since they got a girl cat, it was named “Hairietta L. Pawturr“. The L standing for Likes.
